Mando, auto parts supplier of Halla group, has signed a long-term supply agreement
to supply brakes and suspension systems to China's Geely, who acquired the Swedish Volvo,
in early August.
The famous Korean auto parts manufacturer will supply the car parts of USD 590 million worth
from the end of 2016 for 10 years.
These parts will be applied to the first platform co-developed by Geely and Volvo since Geely’s Volvo buy
and equipped to Geely’s own brand cars and Volvo cars produced in China and Europe.
"Volvo, who prioritizes a safety, acknowledged Mando’s technology by placing and order.” said Mando,
“This is very meaningful because this order is involved in Geely and Volvo’s first global program
for mass production model in China and Europe.”
Mando and Geely established joint venture in 2011 (Mando Ningbo) and it is producing brakes
and suspension systems.
Geely is one of big 4 customers of Mando China, following the Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors,
and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group (SAIC).
